China's 1st cross-City e-commerce low-altitude logistics airline launched between Guangzhou and Dongguan

On April 1, a drone carrying cross-border e-commerce goods took off from Guangzhou Huangpu Comprehensive Bonded Zone and landed in Dongguan Waterfront Hexi Digital Industrial Zone, marking the successful test flight of the country's first cross-city low-altitude logistics airline for cross-border e-commerce.
The flight originated from Huangpu Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Guangzhou and terminated at Dongguan Waterfront Hexi Digital Industrial Zone, taking only 10 minutes, significantly reducing the time compared to land freight (approximately 50 minutes).
This initiative represents a new attempt by Huangpu District to further expand the scope of its low-altitude operations in close cooperation with Dongguan Waterfront Economic Zone, following the successful launch of regional low-altitude airlines, direct drone delivery to clients, and "warehouse-to-store" drone delivery services. It marks an innovative breakthrough in the city boundaries of low-altitude logistics for cross-border e-commerce bonded direct purchases.
It is reported that Guangzhou Development Zone and Huangpu District, as pioneers in the development of the low-altitude economy in Guangzhou, have deeply explored new models for low-altitude application scenarios.
In 2024, the Guangzhou-Hong Kong Smart Manufacturing Cooperation Zone opened the country's first 10-minute express bonded experience store in the Western Red Wine Culture Street, relying on the "front-store, back-warehouse" model developed in Huangpu Comprehensive Bonded Zone to enable ultra-fast pickups.
The pattern innovatively completed the country's first drone direct delivery service for imported cross-border e-commerce goods from a comprehensive bonded zone, successfully delivering orders placed in the bonded experience store via low-altitude delivery across the fence to customers 20 kilometers away, realizing the integrated development of the "bonded exhibition + new retail" business format and the "cross-border e-commerce express delivery" model.
