Diplomats gathered in China Foshan to experience the "China speed" of hydrogen energy industry development

"The hydrogen energy industry cluster here is really great, and Foshan is leading the way in the development of the hydrogen energy industry." H.E. Mr. David Ateti Teaabo, Kiribati's ambassador to China, admired after visiting the Nanhai (Foshan) Hydrogen Energy Exhibition Hall. From January 16th to 17th, the second stop of the "Diplomats Explore China: A Tour of Guangdong (外交官看中国·广东行)" event came to Foshan. Envoys from nearly 40 countries in China conducted a two-day investigation and research activity in Foshan, focusing on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area constructions, the development of new energy industries, and the cultivation of new productivities.

Feel the “Nanhai Speed” of the hydrogen vehicle industry

The Nanhai (Foshan) Hydrogen Energy Exhibition Hall (hereinafter referred to as “The Hall”) is a science and technology industry exhibition hall themed with hydrogen energy and hydrogen industrialization. The Hall has seven exhibition areas, displaying hydrogen technology and hydrogen life scenes from multiple aspects and in all directions. It is a display window for hydrogen energy industry with Foshan Nanhai characteristic and a base for hydrogen energy science popularization education. Here, envoys to China not only learned about the development history and practical application scenarios of the hydrogen energy industry, but also experienced first-hand practical application scenarios of hydrogen energy such as hydrogen electric vehicles, hydrogen buses, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Envoys from various countries expressed pleasant surprise.

H.E. Mr. David Ateti Teaabo, Kiribati's ambassador to China, said: “Today I see the vigorous development of China's hydrogen energy industry. China is not only spreading the concept of green development, but also implementing green development practices. This is my biggest feeling to Nanhai (Foshan) Hydrogen Energy Exhibition Hall. ”

Subsequently, the envoys came to the Xianhu Laboratory to learn about Foshan’s hydrogen energy innovation, talent training, and industrial system building.

Foshan Xianhu Laboratory is a key provincial laboratory in Guangdong Province, focusing on the R&D and industrialization of key materials and core technologies in hydrogen energy and hydrogen-ammonia new energy. Foshan Xianhu Laboratory has become an important part of the international science and technology innovation centre in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by building new energy key materials and building high-temperature carbon neutrality.

Mr. Sittikorn Chantadansuwan, Minister Counsellor of the Thai Embassy in China, said: "Green energy is an important factor in helping us reduce carbon emissions. I think China is the leader in this field. Today I learned about advanced hydrogen energy technology at the Xianhu Laboratory. We also saw the application of these technologies in daily life, which also provides inspiration for our development in this area."

Deepen exchanges and cooperation and share development opportunities

On 17th, the event also set up a dialogue session with envoys stationed in China, titled "Diplomats Explore China: A Tour of Guangdong" with the theme of hydrogen energy industry and high-quality development. The envoys in China conducted exchanges and discussions with experts. Chinese and foreign guests made suggestions on deepening international cooperation in green energy, jointly promoting stronger, greener and healthier global development, and jointly creating a new era of global development with common prosperity.
