Guangzhou Digital Economy Promotion Regulations

The "Guangzhou Digital Economy Promotion Regulations" (the Regulations) will be implemented on June 1. The "Regulations" depict a panoramic blueprint for the development of Guangzhou's digital economy. On May 13, the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government Information Office held a press conference on the implementation of the Regulations, interpreting the content of the regulations, and announced specific measures to ensure the implementation of the "Regulations".

The development of digital economy legislation is an objective need for Guangzhou to seize the opportunity of a new round of global technological revolution and industrial transformation. Strengthen legislative exploration in emerging fields, and encourage, guide, and prudently promote the development of digital economy in the form of local promotion-oriented legislation, which is of great significance to promoting the high-quality economic and social development of Guangzhou.

Guangzhou will speed up the formulation of the "Guangzhou Digital Economy Development Plan" and set up a city digital economy expert advisory committee to focus on cutting-edge technology, industrial upgrading, application empowerment, talent training and gathering, cooperation and exchanges etc. Carry out digital economy evaluation, explore the comparative analysis of digital economy development in key cities such as the Yangtze River Delta, Bohai Rim, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and rationally build a digital economy development indicator system in Guangzhou.
