Notice of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government on Several Policy Measures for Further Promoting Science and Technological Innovation in Guangdong Province (Yuefu [2019] No.1)
The People's Government of Guangdong Province released the above circular on "Certain Policy Measures for Further Promoting Science and Technological Innovation in Guangdong Province" ("the Measures") on 24 December 2018. Specific measures include alleviating the individual income tax burden on the salaries derived by Hong Kong and Macao talents and foreign high-level personnel working in the Mainland, offering subsidies on the tax variance between local and foreigner individual income tax to those residing in the 9 cities within the Pearl River Delta, extending the payment due date for basic pensions in Guangdong Province, allowing employers in Guangdong Province to make commercial pensions and commercial insurance contributions for their foreign employees who are not entitled to enjoy social security benefits. The Guangdong Provincial Government requires bureaus of all levels to implement the above measures within 3 months after the effective date of this circular.
