In a significant development for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), Phase One of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park Project (粵港澳物流園) has commenced operations, marking the realisation of a crucial milestone. The project, a key initiative in line with the "Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area," is strategically located in Zhuhai's Hezhou New Area (鶴洲新區) and spans an expansive area of 128,000 square meters.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park aims to establish a global supply chain service centre, integrating logistics control, supply chain finance, information consulting, and professional services. The first phase of the project includes the construction of bonded warehouses, export supervision warehouses, and other facilities, encompassing approximately 39,000 square meters of built-up area and boasting a storage capacity exceeding 8,000 square meters.
The inauguration of Phase One brings with it a host of advantages and opportunities. Leveraging its strategic location, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park will collaborate with the Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, bolstering the efficiency and convenience of goods clearance. This collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting the construction of the "Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge New Trade Route." Moreover, the park will facilitate seamless connectivity between cities on the west bank of the Pearl River and the Hong Kong-Macao region, effectively transforming into a cross-regional industrial chain and international economic and trade cooperation hub.

Gongbei Customs officials have emphasised that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Logistics Park's Phase One will serve as a catalyst for the formation of a "Westward Expansion" channel within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The channel's establishment will enhance trade connectivity and further solidify the region's position as a key global economic powerhouse.

Zhuhai Huichang Transportation Investment Co., Ltd., the operating company of the logistics park project, has projected that the import and export value of the bonded warehouses and export supervision warehouses within the park will reach 1 billion RMB in the future. Additionally, the logistics park will gradually expand its operations to encompass express delivery, cross-border e-commerce, and cold chain logistics, among other projects. Ambitiously, they aim to double the total import and export value within two years.
