"Interim Measures of the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province on Hong Kong Law Firms and Macao Law Firms Operating in the Form of Partnership Association with Mainland Law Firms in Guangdong Province (2019 Revision)" (Yue Si Gui [2019] No.1)
To amended criteria for Hong Kong law firms and Macao law firms operating a partnership association with Mainland law firms in Guangdong Province, the scope of litigation and the recruitment of Mainland lawyers, etc.
The Department of Justice of Guangdong Province issued the "Interim Measures of the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province on Hong Kong Law Firms and Macao Law Firms Operating in the Form of Partnership Association with Mainland Law Firms in Guangdong Province (2019 Revision)" on 5 July 2019. The measures include the amended criteria for Hong Kong law firms and Macao law firms operating a partnership association with Mainland law firms in Guangdong Province, the scope of litigation and the recruitment of Mainland lawyers, etc.
These measures shall come into force on 1 August 2019 and will be valid for 3 years. The original "Interim Measures of the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province on Hong Kong Law Firms and Macao Law Firms Operating in the Form of Partnership Association with Mainland Law Firms in Guangdong Province (Revision)" (Yue Si Gui [2018] No.8) will be abolished at the same time.
